More of James...

James is 2 1/2 weeks old and is growing too fast. At his Dr. appointment he weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and is very healthy. Here are some pics of the cute little guy.

action shot of James sneezing.
super adorable even when he is mad.

James loves his vibrating chair and swing. He is a good sleeper and is such a sweet boy.
I know I have said this alot but I just love him more than I can express. There really is something so special about babies, they truly are God's little miracles. We are so blessed to have his sweet spirit in our home. I am so grateful to be his mom and that I get to spend every day with my little buddy:).

Sweet Baby James

"Just when you think you know love,
something LITTLE comes along to remind you
just how BIG it really is."

Brady and I have thoroughly enjoyed James in our home. We just
Love him so much. I love being a mom and Brady is such a fun dad, he can't wait to
get home from work everyday and play with our Sweet Baby James. Its really neat
to see Brady be a dad, he is really good at it:)
I love the two boys in my life.

James really is a very good baby. He sleeps well at night and is a good little eater. He even has some pretty sweet hair, a happenin Mo-hawk that doesnt want to go down:).
He is such a nice boy and we just cant get enough of him.
(I think maybe he is so nice because he gave us such a scare on his way here:) )
James loves being stretched WAY out and he will keep his feet up like this for quite some time, especially when he is in his swing his feet will shoot up to the sky. Its super cute.

We just love our little boy!

Introducing James Brayden Griffin

James was born at 2:42 a.m on Monday October 10th 2011. He weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. Labor went pretty quick. From the time of my first contraction to birth was 1 hr and 42 min. I only had two contractions, the second was never ending and I started bleeding so Brady and I rushed to the hospital. When I got to the hospital I was already dilated to a 9! I asked for an epidural but the anesthesiologist was no longer there so they called him and my Dr. The baby's heart rate was down to 60 when it should be around 140. They kept turning me in the bed trying to get his heart rate up, but no success. When the Dr. got there minutes later I was to a 9 1/2. They were afraid I had a placental abruption because I was losing so much blood. James' heart rate was not getting better at all so they had to do an emergency C-section. The anesthesiologist showed up just in time to give me a spinal block and they got James out in just minutes. His umbilical cord was wrapped around his foot twice and tied in a knot. In spite of all this stress he was as healthy as ever. It was quite a traumatic morning, the nurses said that they had never seen anything like that end with a good result. Its really a miracle that he is here. We are so blessed to have him and couldn't love him more.

Brady was such a great coach through the whole thing. Im glad I have him and he is a wonderful dad :)

Brady and I are so blessed to have this little guy in our family. We have never felt so much love for anyone or anything before now. We cant get enough of him :)

Visitors at the Hospital

Here are just some of James' visitors at the Hospital. James got to meet all sorts of new friends. Sorry we didn't get pictures of everyone. If you want to get on the blog, you'll just have to come visit him again.

A proud canner

There are two pear trees in our backyard. One big one, one little one. Little did we know, there came about twelve big boxes of pears from those two trees. Thats alot of pears!!! I gave a bunch away, Brady and I ate a bunch. And then... I learned how to can! I never thought I would know how to can, but I do and its actually pretty fun! A couple ladies in our new ward offered to help me can my pears. So we just divided the cans equally among us. It was so nice of them to help me.
Then I decided I still had a plethora of pears left and wanted to try something different. So I made pear sauce(its like applesauce but with pears instead). Thanks to Brady's sister Kati for giving me pointers along the way . It was quite a fun experiment. I made one batch with regular sugar and one with brown sugar. Brady votes Brown sugar is better but likes them both.
So I ended up with 11 cans of pears and 9 1/2 cans of pear sauce.

My favorite room in the house:)

Our little James will be here in just a few days now. My Dr is going to start me on Tuesday Morning, so hopefully he will be born that day:). We can't wait to meet him!
Here are a couple pictures of the nursery. I love just going in there and thinking that there will be a little baby boy in there real soon! It makes me smile. I really can't believe its here, its finally here!
