I did it ! Whoop de doo:)

So Brady and my brother Logan play on a co-ed soccer team every Monday night. They have loved every single minute of it. Well I am a true fan of theirs, I bring my chair and occasionally some treats. Its really fun to watch them. Like I said its really FUN to WATCH!
Tonight was their last game of the season. About an hour before the game we found out that two of the girls were not going to be able to make it to the game. There has to be equal number of guys to girls on the field. Two girls missing really equals four less vital players on the field. So of course I was talked in to playing with them and we called a lady in my ward who came and played too. Mind you I dont play soccer, never really have. They told me that if I just stood on the field I would be doing my job. Some people in this league are sort of "dirty" players( at my perspective) so I was scared. It was really quite funny, you could tell I was not a soccer player. I had longer shorts on with shin guards and super long soccer socks , you could not see a bit of my legs and I dont own cleats. So all together I think some of the people on the team were a little worried by the looks of me.
Logan just told me to do what he did, when he moved up so did I etc. I was so nervous! My parents were there, they were not about to miss this once in a lifetime game. I did have some pretty decent blocks though. I think I may have even contributed to the team. Brady said he was really Proud of me and that I exceeded his expectations. When we got home he was so happy and just kept saying; " you played soccer with me, I cant believe it!". Well yep I did , ha !

More, more, more.... and more! Lovin it!

Today while I was at work Brady picked:
36 peaches
16 tomatoes
4 cucumbers
17 pears
7 plus cups of blackberries
8 lbs of potatoes

This may not seem like alot to some but to us it was pretty exciting!!!
So tonight we went ahead and tried to preserve them.

First you boil the peaches for about 15 seconds, them you peel off the skin:
Here is my love peeling away:)

Then you slice them and put them in bags sealed tightly and place them in the freezer immediately.

And tada! you have preserved the peaches!!!

We froze some of the tomatoes too, who knew you could do that? Crazy!! Griffins taught us that trick!!!

It didnt sound too fun when we started out but it turned out to be a blast with Brady. Of course, everything is super fun with him:). We would have races to see who could peel their peach the fastest it was pretty funny!!

Blackberries Galore!

I believe this summer Brady picked 150 plus cups of blackberries. Those things are endless. We have really enjoyed them. I did not know there were so many things to do with blackberries. Here are some of the things we did with them:
this is just a very small portion, maybe 18cups?

We made like six batches of Jam. I have to be honest, I really cant take credit for most of this.
Brady did most of it. He is so good at it and just loves the garden. I have learned alot from him.

So so yummy!!!
We have made some absolutely delightful shakes and smoothies!

Oh and Brady also made some really good blackberry syrup and blackberry juice.

Boston Trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About two weeks ago Brady and I went to Boston to visit his sister Jenn and Brother in Law Ben and their two adorable and hilarious kids Henry and Ellis. We seriously had an amazing trip!!! It is almost unreal to me that we were clear across the country. It was so beautiful there, I really dont think I can begin to describe to you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this vacation. But I will give it my best shot!

Day1:
Took a six hour flight to Boston(UGGG!)
Once we got there we received a tour of Harvard University, given by an authentic Harvard student(Ben Iverson, who is now a Master in Economics, go Ben!).

Harvard University is enormous, it seems like it never ends! If I am remembering correctly this is a building where Freshmen live.

Brady and I in front of the Library.
That night we went to a restaurant called Wagamamas, it had Japanese food that was delishful. I had my first experience with curry there and loved it.

Day 2:
We went to Lexington and Concord which are two towns that are roughly 15 min out of Cambridge, where Jenn and Ben live(5 min away from Boston). We went and seen a few historical sites.
Brady and Henry fighting on the same field that the 1st skirmage of the revolutionary war was fought.

All of us in front of the "Minute Man" statue

Ben in front of the " Shot heard around the world" monument
Brady and I in front of the Louisa May Alcott Home( author of Little Women). We all went on a tour, it was really neat.
Here is Ellis starting to warm up to Brady.
We went to Walden pond and saw a replica of the home of Henry David Thoreau. He was about the same height as Brady. It was so pretty out by Walden pond, its no wonder Henry wanted to live out there and loved nature so much!

That evening Ben and Jenn took us to their favorite pizza place(now mine as well) called Reginas Pizzeria. It was amazing!
Oh and we went to Mikes Pastry and ate some desserts that were called canolis. I have never had anything like it before.

Day 3:
We went to church with the family. Brady and I got to teach Primary. A few people thought I was Jenn at church it was pretty funny.
Day 4:
Brady went out on the town on our own, it was a ton of fun!!! We got to take the "T" or the subway everywhere, which was quite and experience.
we went to the science museum:

Some crazy mirror

"probability"

After hours at the science museum we went to the bunker Hill Monument and to the USS Constitution battle ship.
We then went to the Cheers bar, where everybody knows your name(but not really).
That night we went to The Blue Man Group. That was seriously one of the strangest things I have ever seen, but I loved it!
My man loves loves milk!! we should live here:)
Day 5:
Jenn and the boys took us to Cape Cod. It was such a beautiful place. We went shopping in all the little shops, went to the beach and ate dinner. Brady had his first taste of Lobster there too.

Day 6: Brady and I got the chance to go to the Boston Mass Temple:)
One of the highlights of the trip was our Root Beer Taste test. If you have not heard yet, Boston is known for their root beer, so we were told:). So we were quite determined to find the best root beer in boston:
We tasted Virgils, John Buckmans, Mug, and Wild Willies.

Wild Willies won!!!
I love Root Beer!!!
Day 7:
It was time to say good bye and so Jenn and Ben made sure we went out with a bang:)

Telling the boys goodbye.

Thanks Ben and Jenn for having us come and visit you and for taking time to be with us! Hope we make it back there again someday. We really enjoyed just being with Ben and Jenn and their boys. They introduced us to some delectable foods, and we created some unforgettable memories there.
And for the Record
I LOVE BOSTON!
