Temporary Parents!!!

Last week Brady and I babysat his boss's SIX kids! We stayed at their house in Ogden and played mom and dad for the whole week. Everyone that we told beforehand all said things like, " oh man! Good luck", or " Six?, wow that is going to be the longest week of your life." and things like" just don't let this scare you away from wanting kids." I started kind of dreading the whole experience, I was starting to get nervous to be in charge of someone else's children. Brady on the other hand was totally stoked for everything about the week, he really could not wait.

Well, to all of you out there it was not the longest week of my life!! It actually turned out to be a great experience. I am not saying that it was all smooth sailing and that I am ready to do it tomorrow, but it was not that bad. We had a good time, probably half because Brady was having a total blast the whole time. They were good kids and fun to be with. The oldest being almost 11 and the youngest at 10 months. Ages of children: 10 1/2, 9, 7, ,5, 2, and 10 months.

Here are some pictures of some of the momentous things we did:

Brady put together a Guess Who and Connect Four tournament
It was fun because even the two year old could play with us.

we are missing a few children here, but it turned out to be a big hit. We ended up having a tournament almost everyday after that.

We made personal pizzas with the kids. They really enjoyed this! can you say huge mess? but totally worth it:)
Baby is missing? Cant recall where she was at the moment...great mom right?

Oh here she is!!!phew

Their parents left them some playdough to play with which was also a big hit.

This was a good experience for Brady and I. I got a small glimpse of motherhood and it was really fun to see Brady as a dad and seeing how much he adored these kids. He treated them like his own and it was really cute to see.
Couldn't have done it without him and im glad we had this chance to babysit:)

My Bright Wreath

I made this the other day and I just love it! I love pulling up to my house and seeing this bright, cheery wreath on my front door.In my opinion, bright colors make alot of things a little better and the bad days a little more bearable. I just cant help but smile at the bright things in life:)

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!!

Today is My Grandma Melba's Birthday! I can't tell you how much I love this woman. I have always looked up to her.She is the sweetest, most tender hearted person I know. This woman knows everyone and can make friends with anyone at any given time or place. Everybody that knows her would say they are friends with her, because they truly are. My grandma is always searching for ways to make others happy, and she does a wonderful job at that. I love spending time with her, she makes everything fun. She loves her family and cares about them more than words can say.
Its not a party without Grandma Melba
Love you Grandma,
You are beautiful!
Happy Birthday!

"LOVELY" Biscuits

Yesterday I wanted so badly to make these biscuits that I had the
recipe for.So I decided to make soup so I could have a meal
with my biscuits. They were really easy, yummy, and if you have
a heart shaped cookie cutter its even more fun!
Here is the Recipe:
2 C. flour 1/4 C. butter
1Tbsp baking powder 3Tbsp shortening
1/2 tsp salt About 3/4 C. milk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease a baking sheet.

mix flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. stir in enough milk to make soft dough( I didnt use quite 3/4 C. of milk).

Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Knead dough lightly. Roll out 1/2 inch thick. Cut Biscuit rounds out and place on greased baking sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 min.

ENJOY!!!!

Getting Ready For LOVE Day!!!

I realized I didnt have any Valentines decorations, so I came up with something myself. I bought some foam hearts from the $1 section at Target and glued scrapbook paper to them and strung them together with ribbon. Very easy and cheap. I felt like a little girl again, making Valentines. I know they are kind of cheesy but I like them:)
I seriously can't wait til Valentines Day! Don't ask... im not sure why. I have never anticipated this day like this before.

Birthdays!!!!! What a Week!!!!

This last week Brady and I celebrated our Birthdays, and what a time we had too.
Here is how our week went down:
Tuesday night:

Tiffany and Jace took us out to Red Mango for our Birthdays!!! Yum yum... love that place!

so my Birthday was on Wednesday, Brady and I stayed up til 12:00 to wish me a happy birthday. Brady's mom had given me a present to open the morning of my birthday so I opened it then.
It was one of the most exciting things ever!!!.... Footie pajamas!!!! without delay I put them on. And to my dismay they were a bit too snug on my body, they were little girls pj's. I was sad and got a little worried that Brady's mom would later ask about them and I would have to give a not so good report. I didnt want to wear them anywhere, so uncomfortable and not flattering in the slightest.
Well I called her Wednesday and told her thanks. Well, it turns out it was all a joke. they were from Brady's sisters and no one expected me to wear them at all. Thank goodness:) Really funny though.
Wednesday: (happy birthday to me)
My mom, Liza, Bonnie and Deborah took me out to lunch. We went to Roosters and had a great time together.
My mom and I went shopping together with my birthday money, it was fun to be with her.
That night My mom and Dad, Brady and I went to Zupas for dinner.

I just have to say that I love love my husband. He makes everything so much fun. This is what he gave me for my birthday:

DEAL OR NO DEAL
(YA KNOW THE GAME SHOW?)

He took me shopping and before we would go into any store we would play deal or no deal with these cards he had set up and whatever amount of money I won is how much I could spend in that store.
I played 3 different times and won
$22
then $29

and Finally
$50

It was a blast, I should request this every birthday.
That husband of mine is so creative!
Thanks Brady love ya:)

Thursday:
That day Brady and our Brother in law Ben went skiing at Snow Basin together.
I had a girls party with Brady's sisters and mom and niece Sophie. We went shopping, out to dinner, and did manicures and Pedicures. We had a good time just us girls:)

Friday:
We celebrated our birthdays with Brady's family. We all slept over at the Griffin home. We stayed up super late just playing games and being together. It was a night we will all remember.
Its been so fun with Jenn and Ben in town.

Saturday: (Happy Birthday to Brady)

Brady is honestly the most giving person I know. He want for his birthday to take some friends out to eat and he wanted to pay for everyone. So that is what we did. We took our friends Sydney and Troy to Sonora Grill in Ogden. We had so much fun with them and the food was spectacular!!!

It has just been a party week!!! I wish I had pictures of all the things we did, oh well we sure created a lot of memories that I will never forget.
Thanks everyone for playing with us!!!!
We Feel so very SPOILED

Happy Birthday to US!!!

Did I mention I love our Birthday Week?!!!

Trip to Logan UTAH!!!

For Christmas Brady gave me a getaway package to Logan Utah, dinner and hotel was an all inclusive deal. We went with our friends Tiffany and Jace.

Heading up in the car.

We went to a great Pizza place called Firehouse pizza. We all ordered our own personal pizzas. Brady , Tiffany and Jace all ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and let me tell you that is the hottest thing I have ever tasted. Luckily I didn't have a whole pizza of the stuff I had to finish, unlike these three suffering fools, haha.

We stopped to take a close look at the Logan temple. What a beautiful sight, especially at night.

We had such a fun time with Tiffany and Jace. We stayed up late playing games all night long.
What a fun time:)
